Saudi Cabinet Stresses End to Military Escalation in Gaza

RIYADH: The Cabinet of Saudi Arabia has again stressed the need to end the escalation in military operation in Gaza which threatens global peace and security, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.

The session was chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, held in Riyadh.

The meeting reviewed the latest regional and international developments, primarily in the Palestinian territories, renewing the call to address the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza and its surroundings.

The Cabinet also reviewed the outcomes of Saudi Arabia’s participation in a two-day meeting of G20 foreign ministers in Rio de Janeiro and its vision regarding the group’s role in dealing with existing global tensions and restructuring international governance to improve the effectiveness of multilateral frameworks.

The meeting addressed recent engagements between senior officials from the Kingdom and their counterparts in various countries across the world. These discussions underscored the robust ties between Saudi Arabia and brotherly and friendly nations, based on cooperation and coordination.

The Cabinet also reiterated Saudi Arabia’s support expressed during its participation in the UN Conference on Disarmament in Geneva for regional and international efforts to ban all kinds of weapons of mass destruction.

The Cabinet also lauded the outcomes of a recent Arab Interior Ministers’ Council held in Tunisia and emphasized the Kingdom’s constant keenness to support and boost joint Arab action in all areas in a way that contributes to establishing the foundations of stability, security and prosperity in the region.
