Roshan Digital Account Inflows Witness 11.25% Decline

ISLAMABAD: Foreign exchange inflows through the Roshan Digital Accounts (RDAs) experienced a decline of 11.25%, amounting to $142 million compared to $160 million in the previous month.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the total RDA funds received by the end of January 2024 reached $7.337 billion. Of this, $1.55 billion has been repatriated, while $4.556 billion has been utilized locally, resulting in a net repatriable liability of $1.231 billion.

During January, $12 million was repatriated, while $120 million was utilized locally. In contrast, the net repatriable liability in December stood at $14 million.

The data indicates a 1.34% increase in the number of RDAs opened since their launch, totaling 659,806 accounts by the end of January 2024.

In terms of investments made through RDAs in January 2024, total net investments amounted to $830 million. Conventional NPC Investments accounted for $302 million, Islamic NPC Investments for $498 million, and Roshan Equity Investments for $30 million. Additionally, Balances in Accounts totaled $380 million, with Other Liabilities recorded at $21 million.
