KYIV: The Ukrainian air force said Saturday that Russia had launched dozens of assaults over Ukraine overnight.
The country’s air force said around “40 means of enemy air attack” were reported, claiming it has also destroyed eight missiles.
Ukraine’s air force stated Russia attacked with a wide-range of weapons including ballistic, cruise, anti-aircraft missiles and drones.

It maintained that over 20 devices” failed to reach their main targets due to “active steps by means of electronic warfare.
Spokesperson Yuri Ignat later clarified that either they fell in the fields, they were exploded in the air, or they were affected by means of radio-electronic warfare of their defence forces. He added that authorities have not yet recorded any fatalities.

However, Ukraine’s prosecutor general said that a missile assault in the northeastern Sumy region injured one civilian and also damaged around 26 buildings.
Ukraine’s neighbour Poland had also briefly activated air defence systems because of the increased level of threat in the region, AFP reported.
Shelling injured one civilian in Beryslav, on the shores of the Dnipro River in southern part of Kherson, on Friday. “A 71-year-old lady was found under the debris of an apartment building” and is being provided with medical aid, the region’s governor Oleksandr Prokudin stated on Saturday.
