FIFA Club World Cup: Egyptian Al-Ahly Team Defeats Japanese Urawa Reds 4-2 to Secure Bronze

JEDDAH: Egypt’s Al-Ahly team won bronze in the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) after defeating Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds 4-2 in an entertaining third-position match on Friday, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

According to the SPA, the showdown, which took place at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia enabled Al-Ahly to create its own historical moment by securing its 4th bronze in the Club World Cup. The Egyptian side finished 3rd in 2006, 2020, and 2021.

Meanwhile, Urawa Reds secured fourth position for the second time, having achieved the result in 2007, the SPA further said.
