BEIJING: Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin celebrated the strong bilateral relationship between Russia and China, describing it as reaching an “all-time high” during his visit to the Chinese capital. The sentiments were echoed by both Moscow and Beijing, emphasizing the deepening economic and diplomatic cooperation between the two nations.

Despite global geopolitical tensions, China and Russia have strengthened their ties in recent years, with the relationship growing even closer following Moscow’s offensives in Ukraine.

Mishustin conveyed his optimism about the robust nature of the Russia-China relationship during talks with his Chinese counterpart, Premier Li Qiang. The Chinese state broadcaster CCTV and the Kremlin provided readouts of the discussions, highlighting Mishustin’s assertion that “Russia-China relations are at an all-time high.”

China-Russian Relations Continue to Grow

Premier Li Qiang, in response, emphasized the strategic guidance of both President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin, underscoring that China-Russia relations continue to run at a high level. He expressed the mutual commitment to “carry forward the ever-lasting friendship” and inject “more stability and positive energy into the world.”

Mishustin’s visit to China, spanning Tuesday and Wednesday, follows a rare trip by President Putin to meet President Xi two months ago. Additionally, a senior Chinese general was hosted in Moscow a month ago, reinforcing the ongoing diplomatic engagements between the two nations.
