Actress Fired from Movie Over Gaza Posts

WASHINGTON: Actress Melissa Barrera has been fired from the upcoming Scream movie sequel after its makers claimed she had posted pro-Palestinian social media posts.

The actress has posted often about war on Gaza, including resharing one post that alleged Israel of ” ethnic cleansing and genocide”.  Production company admitted that it had fired the actress form the film. Barrera has been vocal regarding her support for the people of Palestine on social media and described Israel as committing genocide of people of Palestine, and “brutally killing innocent people, children and mothers, under the pretense of finishing Hamas.”

In another development, Susan Sarandon has also been dropped by her Hollywood agency following speaking at a pro-Palestinian protest. However, Sarandon and Mexican actress Barrera have not yet commented on their situations after their removal.

According to the health ministry in Gaza, more than 14,100 people mostly women and children were killed due to Israel brutal attack in Gaza.

In another development, World leaders and countries around the world welcomed on Wednesday the announcement that Hamas and Israel reached an agreement to free prisoners and hostages and pause fierce fighting and bombing in Gaza.

US President Joe Biden thanked Qatar and Egypt for their “critical leadership” in reaching the agreement between the two parties.  China hoped “that it will help ease the dilemma of the humanitarian crisis, de-escalate the crisis and ease tensions”, said Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning.
