PESHAWAR: An earthquake measuring 5 on the richter scale shook Swat and its adjoining areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan on late Friday, local media reported.
Citizens came out of their houses in panic and started reciting verses from the Holy Quran. However, no loss of life and property was reported from any part of area. National Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad said that the epicenter of the quake was located near Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan at the depth of about 120 km.
