ISLAMABAD: Jammu and Kashmir National Front, while urging Kashmiris to observe October 27 as a black day, has said that the invasion of Indian illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) by the Indian military was the most atrocious incident that threw the region into throes of instability and perpetual violence.
The JKNF spokesman Shafiq-ur-Rehman said in a statement on Tuesday that October 27 marks the beginning of the Indian Occupation of the valley.
Rehman said that it was on this day in 1947 that the so-called secular leaders of India rushed its forces to Srinagar in the dark of night and trampled down the political and democratic rights of Kashmiris for which they had fought for years together under and against British rule.
He said that New Delhi’s attempt to legalize its illegality rests on a bogus instrument of accession inked by the Maharaja.
Referring to British historian, Alister Lamb, he said that the author in his book had convincingly proved that the “Instrument of accession” was bogus.
The JKNF spokesman said that India’s perpetual denial to grant the right of self-determination to Kashmiris has brought death and destruction in the valley.
Indian Military Brutally Victimizes Kashmiris
He further said that Kashmiris are being brutally victimized by 900,000 Indian military and paramilitary personnel stationed in the length and breadth of Kashmir. During the past three decades alone, over 100,000 Kashmiris have been killed due to India’s mammoth military Occupation and savagery.
He said that on the one hand, New Delhi had backtracked from the commitments it had made for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute, while on the other, its imperialistic designs in the valley posed a serious existential threat to Kashmiris.
The spokesperson said that the Modi government’s August 5 move had further pushed IIOJK into uncertainty, lawlessness, and chaos.
Urging the Indian regime to shun its policy of intransigence, Rehman said that dialogue was the only way forward to seek a just and lasting settlement of the Kashmir problem.
Reiterating the Kashmiris’ pledge to take the ongoing freedom struggle to its logical conclusion, he expressed optimism that the day was not far when Kashmiris would achieve their cherished goal of independence.
