LONDON: Joining voices of concern worldwide, English-Albanian popstar Dua Lipa took to her Instagram handle to express her deep sorrow and solidarity with the people of Palestine amid the ongoing Israeli bombardment on the Gaza Strip.
The pop sensation, of Muslim descent, extended her condolences to the victims of the Israeli airstrikes, emphasizing her empathy towards the citizens of Gaza, as she called for an immediate ceasefire in the region.
In a heartfelt post, Dua Lipa shared a fundraiser by the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) titled ‘Urgent Relief for Gaza’s Children’. Addressing the dire situation, she said, “With each passing day, my heart aches for the people of Palestine. Grief for the lives lost in the horrifying attacks. Grief as I witness the unprecedented suffering in Gaza, where 2.2 million souls, half of them children, endure unimaginable hardships.”
The ‘Levitating’ singer urged for an urgent ceasefire in Gaza and made a fervent appeal to governments worldwide to intervene and halt the unfolding crisis. She emphasized the urgent need for empathy, recognizing the dire humanitarian situation unfolding in the region.
