RIYADH: Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Friday made a series of diplomatic calls to press the UN Security Council members to fulfill their obligation to maintain global peace and security and stop military operations in Gaza, the foreign ministry said.
The Israeli strikes have so far killed around 1,900 people in the Gaza Strip over the past week while the territory has also been cut off from food, water and medical supplies under complete blockade.
During calls with his counterparts from the Albania, Brazil, India, Malta, Norway and Sweden and UK, Prince Faisal emphasized the importance of implementing Security Council resolutions on the Palestinian issue, in order to find a just solution in accordance with the relevant international laws.

He also said Israel must adhere to international humanitarian law by including allowing food and relief supplies to reach Gaza by lifting the blockade.

They world leaders discussed the latest developments in the situation in Gaza and its surroundings, and the international efforts to solve the crisis.

Prince Faisal urged the need to stop all forms of targeting civilians and prevent the forced displacement of the population of Gaza.

Prince Faisal also made telephonic conversations to his counterparts from Gabon and Indonesia, as well as EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell on protecting civilians and the flow of aid to Gaza.
