BEIJING: China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson voiced deep concern on Sunday over the escalating tensions and violence between Palestinians and Israelis, urging all parties involved to maintain calm and exercise restraint.
In an official statement, the spokesperson called for an immediate cessation of hostilities to safeguard civilians and prevent the situation from further deteriorating.
China Calls for Establishment of Independent Palestinian State
The spokesperson emphasized that the recurring conflict highlighted the ongoing stalemate in the peace process. They underscored that the only lasting resolution to the conflict lies in implementing the two-state solution and establishing an independent State of Palestine.
“The international community needs to act urgently, increase efforts to address the Palestine question, facilitate the prompt resumption of peace talks between Palestine and Israel, and work towards a lasting peace,” stated the spokesperson.
China reiterated its commitment to collaborating tirelessly with the international community to achieve a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
