Iran Reaffirms Commitment to Stand by Syria

DAMASCUS: Iran’s foreign minister has assured Syrian President Bashar al-Assad of his country’s full support under the new circumstances.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, during a meeting with the Syrian President in Damascus, said Iran stayed with Syria during tough days and will remain by Syria and its people under the new circumstances as well.

Iran urges all states to respect Syria’s territorial integrity

Amirabdollahian asked all countries to remain committed to Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, adding that Iran will continue to stand by Syria in combating terrorism.

He added, that the Syrian government, army, and people emerged victorious in an international war launched against them by terrorists.

He noted that now Syria is in its best condition ever, and we are happy to see the region and the world have come to realize Syria’s realities and power.

Amirabdollahian went on to say that enemies of Syria seek to follow their own political objectives by imposing sanctions and economic pressures against Damascus.

He also extended the invitation of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to the Syrian president to visit Tehran.

He also hailed the resumption of Syria’s presence and activities in the Arab League.

Amirabdollahiam arrived in Damascus on Wednesday and besides meeting President Assad, he held meetings with the Syrian Prime minister and the Syrian opposite number.
