BAKU: President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan expressed his admiration for the robust collaboration between the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey during a meeting with Turkish National Defense Minister Yasar Guler on Sunday.
The meeting, held at the Zagulba Presidential Residence in Baku, served as a platform for President Aliyev to commend the significant contributions made by Minister Guler in fostering a strong partnership between the armed forces of both countries.
Exceptional Cooperation Between the Azerbaijani and Turkish Armed Forces
Aliyev underscored the exceptionally positive status of cooperation between the Azerbaijani and Turkish Armed Forces, highlighting the deep ties that have been cultivated through joint efforts. He emphasized that the partnership has reached an impressive level, enabling effective collaboration on various fronts.
Referring to an impactful diplomatic gesture, President Aliyev recalled Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s initial overseas visit to Azerbaijan following his reelection this past May. During this visit, Erdogan inaugurated the new Air Force Central Command Post, a pivotal development that underscored the importance of the nations’ alliance.
Minister Guler reciprocated the sentiment by expressing deep respect for the sacrifices and heroism demonstrated by Azerbaijani soldiers during the liberation of territories that were previously occupied. His remarks particularly referred to the fall 2020 Karabakh conflict, a historical event that showcased the resilience and dedication of the Azerbaijani military.
