BATAGRAM, Pakistan: A daredevil rescue is underway as eight students along with two teachers are stuck midair owing to a broken cable in Batagram area of Mansehra in Pakistan.
The incident occurred around 7 in the morning when the students and teachers were caught off guard as one of the cables stopped working. The chairlift is stuck almost 1500 feet above the ground level, according to the reports.
Special Services Group Sling Team is onboard the helicopter that has been in the area for some time now. The options are being considered for carrying out the rescue.
Gulfraz, a teacher who has also been caught with the students, reported of phone battery going dead with one student fainted owing to medical condition.
The chairlift is stuck 1500 feet above the ground. The area has attracted media attention from all over the country.
The authorities have been keeping a close eye on the operation as near and dear ones of the children stuck midair are gathered under the chairlift.
The situation is grave as all factors need to be considered owing to air pressure along with the weight before starting the rescue work.
