OJAI: An Earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter Scale struck southern parts of California state in the US on Sunday.
Authorities in southern California said the earthquake hit near Ojai in Ventura county and was felt throughout the region.
5.1 Earthquake Jolts Southern California
The US Tsunami Warning System said there was no threat of tsunami due to the earthquake.
The epicenter of the earthquake was about four miles southeast of Ojai and the tremors were felt in Malibu, Porter Ranch, Los Angeles and other areas.

County emergency officials have said there are no immediate reports of damage at this time however.
According to the USGS at least four aftershocks of magnitude 3.0 or greater occurred after the main earthquake.
The county officials said the quake occurred along the Sisar fault system.
It is pertinent to mention that the earthquake occurred at a time when powerful hurricane Hilary is heading towards the state.
