BEIJING: The 7th China-South Asia Exposition along with the 27th China Kunming Import and Export Fair kicked off in Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan Province.
The five-day expo invites substantial impetus for fast-growing trade and business relations between China and South Asian countries. “China-South Asia Exposition is the biggest expo in Yunnan province. We’ve been participating in this expo for a couple of years, exhibiting carpets and scarves. This year, more exhibitors and visitors are coming here, as Covid-19 has finished,” said a Pakistani exhibitor.
This year’s event features the involvement of approximately 300 participants from Pakistan. Among them, more than 60 are exhibitors, and around 40 represent delegate positions and other roles. Noteworthy items such as Pakistani jade, leather jackets, footballs, and brass ornaments are capturing the interest of Chinese buyers, as reported by the China Economic Net (CEN) on Saturday.
“Pakistani traditional handicrafts, encompassing brass and wooden furniture, have garnered immense popularity among Chinese consumers, consistently achieving swift sales at the expo,” revealed another Pakistani exhibitor from Sialkot, who boasts decades of business experience in China. Marking his inaugural participation in the China-South Asia Expo, he has introduced leather jackets and footballs to the event’s offerings. —APP
