The scholars, representing the breadth of Pakistan’s talent and ambition, will soon disperse to leading UK institutions including the universities of Bristol, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and London.
“We are investing in people with the talent, ambition and purpose to make a difference,” declared British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott CMG OBE, addressing the gathering. “Chevening and Commonwealth scholarships are one of the clearest examples of the UK-Pakistan partnership in action. I hope this year’s scholars use their time in the UK to build new skills, lasting networks and fresh ideas, returning ready to contribute to Pakistan’s future.”

A legacy of leadership: Building bridges through education

“Studying in the UK is not just about earning a degree; it’s about understanding different perspectives and building bridges,” shared one scholar during the reception, reflecting the sentiment that permeated the event. “We carry not just our own aspirations, but the hopes of our communities and the responsibility to make a meaningful difference.”
A growing network of changemakers
Upon their return, these scholars will join an impressive and influential network of nearly 2,000 Chevening alumni and more than 1,500 Commonwealth alumni already active across Pakistan. This distinguished community works across education, governance, health, climate action, business, and civil society, continuing to strengthen the vibrant links between the UK and Pakistan while driving tangible progress in their respective fields.
The British High Commission is actively seeking to expand these opportunities further, expressing keen interest in building partnerships with local organisations to create additional scholarship places in priority areas.
Previous collaborations have already supported extra places in subjects including heritage conservation, climate studies, sports management, and business, opening doors for more talented Pakistanis to access world-class UK education and return with invaluable skills.
