SAN FRANCISCO: One person was killed while another was seriously wounded on Saturday night as a plane crashed at San Rafael Airport in the western US state of California, said officials on Sunday.
The Marin County Sheriff’s Office, responding to the crash, tweeted that the pilot was in critical condition, while his passenger died.
Rescuers found a plane that had crashed into a nearby marsh when approaching the airport runway. Its tail fin had struck electricity lines, which were wrapped around the plane.
As per flight information, the two were the only people on board, which departed from Minden in the western US state of Nevada. —Xinhua/APP
