SRINAGAR: Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC), in Pakistan and worldwide are observing today, the 5th August, as Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir to register their strong protest and defiance against Indian government’s unlawful and fraudulent action taken on this day in 2019.
According to media reports, India in gross violation of the United Nations resolutions and global law, directly repealed the special status of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and imposed unprecedented military and police siege in the occupied territory on this day in 2019.
Black Day in Occupied Kashmir
The day is being marked as a Black Day in Occupied Kashmir while the people in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan and the Kashmiri diaspora are staging protest demonstrations, seminars, rallies, and other programs in capital cities of the world to draw the attention of the world towards the grim situation in Occupied Kashmir due to unprecedented repression unleashed by Indian forces in the territory. Call for the observance of the Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC).
Pakistan is also observing Youm-e-Istehsal today to protest against India’s illegal move of August 5, 2019, when the Indian government unilaterally abrogated Articles 370 and 35-A of the Indian Constitution, revoking the Special Status of Kashmir.

Pakistan President, PM, Armed Forces Reaffirm Their Steadfast Solidarity with People of Kashmir
In their messages on Youm-e-Istehsal, Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and forces chiefs have reaffirmed their steadfast solidarity with brave and resilient people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK.
In his message on Youm-e-Istehsal, President Zardari said that India’s actions since 5 August 2019 have demonstrated complete disrespect for international law, aspirations of Kashmiris and the UNSC resolutions about Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
In his message, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan will continue to extend its strong political, diplomatic and moral support to Kashmiris till realization of their inalienable right to self-determination.
On the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Services Chiefs and the Pakistan Armed Forces paid rich tribute to the martyrs of Occupied Kashmir for their extraordinary sacrifices and reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to supporting the people of Kashmir in their righteous struggle against oppression and tyranny, on moral, political, and humanitarian grounds.
