ISLAMABAD: Pakistani actor-turned-producer Yasir Nawaz humorously suggested that women should be legally bound to arrange a second marriage for their husbands after a specified period.
In a recent episode of their YouTube talk show “Nadan Maizban,” Yasir Nawaz, who co-hosts the show with his wife Nida Yasir and his brother Danish Nawaz, welcomed comedy actor and TV host Salman Saqib Sheikh, popularly known as Mani, to their home studio.
The episode, which featured the celebrity trio engaging in casual banter, delved into various topics related to marriage, including personal space and the dynamics of relationships.
During the conversation, Yasir offered his thoughts on maintaining marital harmony, suggesting that couples should share the same room despite any potential inconveniences, such as snoring or disagreements.
He argued that spending time together helps to strengthen the bond between spouses. The discussion took a humorous turn when Yasir’s wife, Nida, and the other guests began to speculate about unconventional solutions to marital issues.
Yasir joked about the notion of a “second marriage” and, in a playful manner, proposed that the government should enact a law requiring women to arrange a second marriage for their husbands after 15 years of their own marriage. “If the wife does not comply, then she would be jailed,” Yasir quipped.
The suggestion was clearly made as a joke, reflecting the show’s light-hearted and humorous approach. Yasir’s wife, Nida Yasir, responded to the playful remark with a witty comment: “Jo garajtay hain wo baraste nahi,” which translates to “barking dogs seldom bite”.
