ISLAMABAD: Leaders of several countries have lauded Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for promoting peace in the Middle East and helping to secure a two-week ceasefire between the United States, its allies, and Iran to end weeks long conflict.
They highlighted Pakistan’s growing role in easing regional tensions and extended support for upcoming Islamabad talks between the US and Iran and agree on a peace deal.
They acknowledged that Pakistan’s proactive diplomacy has contributed to creating an environment conducive to lasting peace and stability.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while thanking their support, reiterated Islamabad’s commitment to continued collaboration with international partners to promote dialogue, prevent conflict, and ensure sustainable peace in the region.
Prime Minister Sharif and French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday stressed the urgent need to end ongoing Israeli “aggression” in Lebanon to restore peace in the entire region after Pakistan-brokered ceasefire between the United States, its allies, and Iran.
PM Sharif received a telephone call from President Macron and discussed Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for regional peace, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Office said in a statement.

During their warm and cordial conversation, President Macron congratulated PM Sharif for Pakistan’s mediation efforts that had resulted in the ceasefire between Iran and the US and brought both sides to the negotiating table.
Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has also lauded Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for Pakistan’s success in bringing about a ceasefire between Iran and the US, hoping that it would bring lasting peace in the Middle East.
He conveyed this in a telephone call with PM Sharif, a PM Office statement said on Thursday.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has thanked his Australian counterpart, Anthony Albanese, for appreciating Islamabad’s efforts for lasting peace in the Middle East.
In a post on his X handle on Thursday, the Prime Minister said we will continue to work tirelessly with our friends and partners in our shared pursuit of lasting peace in the region.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked British Prime Minister Keir Starmer for his endorsement of Pakistan’s sincere efforts for peace.
“We remain committed to working closely with our friends and partners, including the United Kingdom, in our collective pursuit of enduring peace in the region and beyond,” he said on X.

PM Sharif also thanked German Chancellor Friedrich Merz for his acknowledgement of Pakistan’s sincere efforts for peace.

“Pakistan shall continue to work tirelessly alongside its friends and partners, including Kazakhstan, in our common quest for securing lasting peace in the region,” he noted.
