Watch: Yunus Hails Post-Uprising Polls as ‘Birthday of a New Bangladesh’

DHAKA, Bangladesh: Bangladesh’s interim leader Muhammad Yunus says the first election since the deadly 2024 uprising, marks the “birthday of a new Bangladesh” and rejection of a “nightmarish past”.

“This is a day of great joy for all of us,” the 85-year-old Nobel Peace Prize winner says after voting in Dhaka.
