BEIJING, China: Images of the China Space Museum in the country’s capital Beijing, ahead of the United States’ launch of its first crewed flyby mission to the Moon.

China is rapidly building up its space capabilities and challenging US dominance as it works toward sending astronauts to the lunar surface by 2030, an expert tells AFP.

The US space agency NASA’s Artemis programme also aims to return humans to the Moon, underscoring a more intense new era of lunar exploration.
