HANOI: Vietnam has recorded 99,639 dengue fever cases since the beginning of the year, including 27 deaths, according to the health ministry.
The number of new dengue cases has reduced in the last week compared to the prior week. However, the infection rate in Hanoi, the capital city, has not decreased.
Since the end of September 2023, the infection rate in Hanoi has climbed greatly, standing at roughly 2,500-2,600 cases per week.
Since the start of the year, the capital city has reported 20,548 cases of dengue fever, which is three times more than the same period last year.
The number of dengue fever cases has reduced worldwide, but Hanoi has experienced an increase owing to difficult weather in the north, with rain followed by prolonged heat, increasing the growth of the mosquito cycle, according to medical experts reported by Vietnam News Agency.
