WASHINGTON: The United States and Pakistan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening counterterrorism cooperation, pledging closer collaboration to combat regional and global terrorist threats during the Fourth US-Pakistan Counterterrorism Dialogue held in Washington.
The dialogue, held on Tuesday, was led by US Coordinator for Counterterrorism Ambassador Gregory LoGerfo and Pakistan’s Special Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Nabeel Munir.
According to a joint statement, the talks underscored the shared commitment of both countries to enhancing their counterterrorism partnership and addressing evolving security challenges.
Focus on Shared Threats
The two sides exchanged assessments of the current terrorist threat environment and discussed ways to deepen cooperation, strengthen border security and disrupt terrorist facilitation networks.

The United States and Pakistan reaffirmed their joint resolve to combat terrorist organisations that threaten the security of both countries and regional stability.
The groups specifically identified included ISIS-Khorasan (ISIS-K), Al-Qaeda (AQ), Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its affiliates.
Commitment to Regional Stability
Both governments pledged to continue working together to enhance counterterrorism cooperation as part of broader efforts to promote regional peace, prosperity and stability.
The dialogue reaffirmed the longstanding security partnership between Washington and Islamabad and highlighted the importance both countries place on sustained cooperation against terrorism.
