Washington: Republican Congressman Tim Walberg has sparked a controversy by calling for the war in Gaza to be resolved immediately in the same fashion as the atomic bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima in Japan.
In a shocking statement Tim Walberg emphasized that America should drop bombs on Gaza “like Nagasaki and Hiroshima” to “get it over fast.
Speaking with voters on March 25, Walberg said that Washington must deploy nuclear arms in Gaza rather than sending humanitarian help.
He made these remarks over questions about the Biden administration’s intents of building a floating pier off the coast of Gaza to channel humanitarian aid to Palestinian people.
He added, “I don’t think we should spend a dime on humanitarian aid. It should be like Nagasaki and Hiroshima. “Get it over quick.”
Stressing that the same approach should be applied in Ukraine to defeat Russian President Putin quick, Walberg added: “Rather than of 80 percent in Ukraine being used for humanitarian purpose, it should be 80-100 percent to wipe out Russia, if that’s what we need to do.”
Walberg drew strong condemnation for his statements with some expressing deep shock that a former Christian pastor supports the genocide of Palestinian people in Gaza. Many people on social media strongly criticized his remarks and said that they were shocked by the remarks of Tim Walberg.
Japan’s Nagasaki and Hiroshima are the only two cities in the world that have ever been destroyed by nuclear arms during World War-II. In 1945, America launched the attacks that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of civilian populations and marked the end of World War II with Tokyo’s surrender.
