Earlier, a resolution titled “Conclusion of effective international arrangements to assure non-nuclear-weapon States against the use or threat of use of nuclear weapons” was adopted by 122 votes, with none against.
For decades, Pakistan has played an active role at the United Nations in advancing key initiatives on conventional arms control, confidence-building measures and regional disarmament.
Amid rising global tensions and the gradual erosion of the arms control framework, these resolutions provide practical avenues for strengthening cooperation, reducing risks, building mutual trust and promoting peace, security and stability at both the regional and international levels.
