UN Secretary-General Extends Solidarity to Gaza, Wishes Muslims a Blessed Ramadan

UNITED NATIONS: United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres released a video message at the onset of the holy month of Ramadan, expressing solidarity and support for the people of Gaza enduring extreme suffering due to relentless Israeli bombardments over the past five months.

Guterres conveyed warm wishes to millions of Muslims worldwide, highlighting Ramadan as a beacon of hope and a reminder of shared humanity amidst trying times. He emphasized that Ramadan embodies values of peace, resilience, and generosity, serving as a period of reflection, prayer, and unity.

Acknowledging that many will observe Ramadan amidst conflict, displacement, and fear, Guterres expressed solidarity with those facing such challenges, urging collective efforts to heal divisions and support those in need. He called for unity in working towards the safety and dignity of all individuals.

The UN chief wished for Ramadan to bring peace and guide humanity towards a more just and compassionate world, extending the message: “Ramadan Kareem.”
