GENEVA: The United Nations (UN) has appealed for record funds aid for the upcoming years as the world is confronted with several challenges including the war in Ukraine, climate change, pandemic, and famine. According to the United Nation’s annual Global Humanitarian Overview, 339 million people will require emergency assistance next year around the world.
United Nations says the world confronts challenges like climate change and floods
United Nations aid head Martin Griffiths termed it a depressing number and said that this suggests the next year will pursue a major humanitarian program. He said that floods and droughts are wreaking havoc in communities from Pakistan to Africa.

United Nations and other humanitarian organizations said that a record 51.5 billion dollars are required to assist and help the people in the next year. Griffiths said that they appeal to save the affected people in the world and termed the appeal as a lifeline for them.
The United Nations report presented a very depressing picture of the world. The United Nation warned that the overlapping problems have already left the globe dealing with the world food crisis in today’s history.
UN: Help 222 million people to face acute food issues

United Nations said 222 million people across 53 countries were expected to confront acute food issues by the end of 2022. Five countries including Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Haiti, Somalia, and South Sudan are facing a famine-like situation, Griffiths added. He further said that 2023 would be a year of solidarity as many people suffered in the current year 2022.
