UN: Chinese VP Asks World to Improve Global Governance

NEW YORK:  China’s Vice President Han Zheng has called on the world to stay true to multilateralism and take measures to improve global governance. He expressed these views while addressing at the United Nations General Assembly session in New York on Thursday.

The VP said that UN member nations should uphold justice, and equity and safeguard security and peace; and achieve development for all. Han Zheng added that the legitimate security concerns of all nations should be resolved, the territorial integrity and sovereignty of all states should be respected, and disputes and conflicts should be settled in a peaceful way via consultation and dialogue.

He said that Beijing supports all efforts that are favorable to the peaceful settlement of the Ukraine conflict and stands ready to continue playing a positive role in the early achievement of peace.

He added that his country will continue to build an international community of development. The Chinese VP asked the international community to strengthen the voice and representation of developing nations and make global governance more equitable.
