LONDON: British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has called for “bold” and “radical” steps to reform the crisis hit healthcare system as he held an emergency conversation with health leaders, Western media reported on Saturday.
The UK’s health service is struggling in order to meet the demand for emergency medical care during winter with high rates of flu and Covid-19. Ambulance and hospital staff have announced rare strike action — in the case of the nurses, for the 1st time in hundred years.

Nurses are demanding raise in their salaries following high inflation in the country. Following being accused of inaction, the PM was hosting, NHS England chief executive Amanda Pritchard and England’s chief medical officer Chris Witty at Downing Street on Saturday.
The meeting held ahead of talks planned between union leaders and government officials on Monday, aimed at ending the ongoing strikes in the UK. Rishi Sunak thought that they need bold and radical steps now to overcome the issue.
