LONDON: UK’s minister for the Middle East on Wednesday reiterated his country’s continued support for the Palestinian people and the commitment to a two-state solution.
The Minister has undertaken a two-day official visit to Israel on Tuesday, UK officials said.
The minister held meeting with the Israeli Foreign Minister and discussed regional security issues including Iran. British officials said that the Minister also discussed Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict during the meeting.

The minister also reiterated London’s “continued support” for the Palestinian people and the commitment to a two-state solution, Turkish Anadolu News Agency reported. It added that the minister will also visit the occupied Palestinian territories and will hold talks with the Palestinian Authority leadership and young people.

He said in a statement that his visit comes at a difficult time but important time for the Palestinian people, and he wants to re-emphasize London support to the Palestinian people. He further said that a two-state solution is the only means of ending this conflict.
