LAHORE: The newly-established public sector institute, the University of Home Economics (UHE) Lahore on Friday decided to participate in the Times Higher Education Ranking and QS World University Rankings.

The decision was taken in a meeting of the Quality Enhancement Cell. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Kanwal Ameen presided over the meeting at the committee room of the varsity.
Quality Enhancement Cell’s Director Ahmed Faraz presented the report to the vice-chancellor for participation in Times Higher Education Rankings, and QS World University Ranking. Prof. Ameen directed the QEC to collect university data based on the decimals set for ranking the university.
She emphasized that inclusion in the ranking will help the UHE to further improve the quality of education and the required international standards of the university.

In the QEC meeting, Director Ahmed Faraz also presented the draft for approval to the vice-chancellor about self-institutional performance evaluation, self-assessment reports, faculty survey review reports, and faculty surveys on annual basis.
QEC also shared the self-institutional performance evaluation report of the teachers. The Vice-Chancellor appreciated teachers who scored excellent marks under the current evaluation system.
Prof. Ameen directed issued instructions to ensure timely evaluation of teachers for each semester and to inform the teachers whose report is unsatisfactory to rectify their weaknesses. She clearly stated that there should not be any compromise on the quality of education.
