UAE to Launch Cop28 Presidency of Global Climate Talks

DUBAI: The UAE is going to launch its presidency of global climate talks on Thursday, Western Media reported. 

UAE and Global Climate 

According to the Guardian, the chief of UAE’s oil company is likely to be given a key role in the presidency of global climate talks. Sultan Al Jaber has worked as the UAE’s envoy for climate change and is head of the Abu Dhabi National Oil company.

Sultan Al Jaber is also working as a minister for industry and advanced technology. He is also the head of a company dealing with the matter of renewable energy.

The Cop28 UN climate summit will be held in November in Dubai, UAE. It will be an important conference to discuss the challenge of climate change in the world. 

The United Arab Emirates has sought to present itself as a modernizing oil producer country, improving the efficiency of its production methods, and investing in renewable energy.
