UAE Launches COP28 Logo, Reflects ‘One World’ Concept

ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has revealed its official logo for the next session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), media reported on Tuesday.

The UAE holds the presidency of this year’s COP 28, which will be held at Expo City Dubai from November, 30 until December, 12.

Encouraged by the idea that we are all residents of “One World,” the sphere-shaped logo is made up of numerous icons representing renewable-energy technologies, people, nature, and wildlife all captured in one globe, the gulf country media reported on Tuesday.

According to the media, the logo is designed in order to represent the wealth of natural, and technological resources available to humans and highlight the need for innovation in all fields to drive inclusive and transformational sustainable development across the world.

The logo serves as a notice to global communities of the need to gather behind the call for climate action, with iconography that highlights the message that the UN Climate Change Conference (2023) will be for all that bonds the gap between the North, South, leaves no one behind, and includes the participation of the private and public sectors, scientists, civil society, youth and women

Sultan Al-Jaber, the president-designate of COP28 said that they live in one world, where they need to cooperate like never before to make the transformational progress needed to reach the Paris pact. He further said that COP28 in the United Aran Emirates will seek to find world consensus so that they can go faster to achieve the goals.
