ISLAMABAD/QUETTA: Two road accidents in Pakistan’s Balochistan and Punjab provinces claimed the lives of at least nine people on Monday.
In the first accident, a truck rammed into a passenger coach in district Qilla Saifullah in Balochistan last night. The head-on collision between the two vehicles resulted in the death of seven passengers, including women. The collision also resulted in injuries to 25 other passengers.
The bodies and wounded were shifted to different hospitals in Qilla Saifullah and Quetta city for medico-legal formalities and treatment.
Road accident in Punjab
In another road accident, a speeding jeep turned turtle in on M-2 motorway near Bhatti Gujjar in Tala Gang in north Punjab, killing two little girls of the same family and injuring five others.
Rescue officials said that the dead and the wounded were shifted to the district headquarters hospital Tala Gang. They further said that four women, a man and the girls were travelling in the jeep.
The dead included five-year-old Rida and 8-year-old Alisha.
The jeep was going to Islamabad from Lahore.
