ISTANBUL: Foreign Minister of Turkey Hakan Fidan, and his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba have discussed the possibility to revive the Black Sea Grain Initiative.
Turkish media citing diplomatic sources said that both sides made the discussion in a telephone conversation.
Russia suspended its participation in the Black Sea grain deal on July 17 saying the agreement was not fully implemented.
It asked to lessen banking restrictions and Moscow’s ability to ship its fertilizer before coming back to the agreement.
Turkey, Ukraine Discuss Black Sea Grain Agreement
Turkey, the UN, Russia, and Ukraine signed the agreement in July 2022 in Istanbul aiming to resume grain exports from Ukrainian ports that stopped due to the Russia-Ukraine war, which began in February 2022.
Turkey hopeful of Russia’s return to the deal believes Western countries should address Russia’s complaints.

Earlier, Turkish Minister for Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken also discussed the renewal of the Black Sea Grain Initiative.
