PESHAWAR: The youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province’s merged districts have enthusiastically welcomed the recent announcement by Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir regarding the establishment of the ‘Implementation Secretariat’ for merged districts and a substantial Rs81 billion development package.
The Tribal Youth Association said that these initiatives hold the potential to significantly accelerate economic progress and usher in positive transformations in the lives of tribal communities.
In a press conference held at the Peshawar Press Club, the President of the Tribal Youth Association, Murtaza Mehsud, conveyed deep appreciation for the creation of the implementation secretariat, underscoring its significance as a fundamental aspiration of the tribal people.
Creation of implementation secretariat for merged districts
Chief of Army Staff General (COAS) Syed Asim Munir had announced the Rs81 billion development package and the creation of a secretariat for the merged districts of the province during a tribal Jirga in the provincial capital on Monday.
Murtaza Mehsud thanked the Army Chief and Corps Commander Peshawar Lt Gen Ahsan Azhar Hayat for the groundbreaking development package, highlighting its crucial role in enhancing access to quality education, healthcare services, job opportunities, and sustainable peace in the region.
Murtaza Mehsud praised COAS’s commitment and dedication to fostering enduring peace in the merged areas. Moreover, he commended the Army Chief’s unwavering pledge to attract foreign investments, facilitating economic growth and prosperity within the tribal districts.
