Barcelonnette, France: A city in southern France celebrates Mexico’s colourful Day of the Dead with traditional Mexican rancheras, decorative altars, and people wearing La Catrina-style skull makeup. Barcelonnette, which its mayor describes as “the most Mexican town in Europe”, has observed this Central American festivity for over 20 years, celebrating its ancestors and attracting tourists from around the world.
