ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police on Wednesday registered a case for fraud against former prime minister and chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi besides others for producing fake receipts pertaining to Toshakhana gifts, at the Kohsar Police Station here on the complaint of a local watch dealer.
The case has been registered for cheating against Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, Shahzad Akbar, Zulfi Bukhari and Farah Gogi. According to the FIR, accused Imran and others presented fake receipts for buying Toshakhana gifts and the former fraudulently used forged signatures for the alleged deal.
The plaintiff claimed that the accused sold watches, cufflinks and other gifts to him. The local watch dealer claimed that the investigation proved that the accused had prepared fake receipts on his name on a fake letterhead of his shop that was used to sell Toshakhana gifts.
He alleged that the accused involved in selling the Toshakhana watch tried to damage reputation of his business by creating fake invoices. “We never bought or sold such things, so legal action should be taken,” the plaintiff demanded.
