TENNESSEE: Tornadoes and severe weather wreaked havoc across the state of Tennessee on Saturday, causing extensive damage to homes, widespread power outages, and claiming at least six lives, according to authorities.
Three fatalities occurred in a northern suburb of Nashville, the capital of Tennessee, where the Nashville Office of Emergency Management shared images on social media depicting downed trees and shattered homes. Confirming the tragic outcome, the office posted, “Unfortunately, we can confirm there are 3 fatalities as a result of the severe weather on Nesbitt Lane.”
A tornado touched down in Clarksville in the northern part of the state, resulting in additional fatalities. The Montgomery County government released a statement, stating, “We can confirm that three people are deceased, two adults and one child. Additionally, 23 people have been treated at the hospital.” First responders continue to engage in search and rescue efforts, urging residents to avoid traveling on the roads.
