The Secretary-General’s remarks came after reports of Israeli airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear infrastructure and subsequent Iranian missile attacks hitting sites in and around Tel Aviv.
The United Nations has repeatedly warned of the dangers posed by military action involving nuclear-related sites and has called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint to prevent further deterioration of regional stability.
