TOKYO: Three people died when a man fired a hunting gun on Thursday afternoon in the city of Nakano, Nagano Prefecture in central Japan.
The suspect also possibly has a knife, according to initial media reports. Four people, including a woman and two police officers were injured and the woman, who is also supposedly been stabbed, was confirmed dead after being shifted to hospital, according to local police.
According to the initial reports, the man has confined himself in a private house in the Ebe area. The neighbourhood residents said the accused is a farmer by profession in his 30s and lives in the house. It is still unclear if there are any hostages. The individual, accoridng to the residents, was dressed in camouflage clothes, sunglasses and mask. Police have urged people in the area to stay indoors.
