FAISALABAD: A passenger train’s bogie derailed in the early hours of Thursday, injuring at least ten persons, including five women.
According to a spokesperson for Rescue 1122, the bogie of Mianwali Express, travelling from Lahore to Mianwali derailed near Chak Jhumra due to a defective rail track close to Dogran Wala Phattak.
10 passengers, including Tahira Bibi w/o Zia Ullah (40) r/o Esa Khail, M. Zakar s/o Zaman Khan (29) r/o Mianwali, Hijab Fatima d/o Asghar Ali (17) r/o Chiniot, Rizwana Bibi w/o Habib Khan (36) r/o Sargodha, Muqaram s/o Farukh (26) r/o Okara, Salma w/o Abdul Sattar (45) r/o Dunia Pur, Minahil Khan d/o Asif (16) r/o Lahore, Zuhaib Khan s/o Asif (14) r/o Lahore, Nadir Khan s/o Noor Gull (55) r/o Lahore, and Babar s/o Abdul Ghafoor (64) r/o Sargodha received multiple injuries.
Rescue 1122 teams, after getting information, rushed to the spot and gave first aid to the injured passengers.
According to initial reports, the accident happened due to the poor track conditions due to rain; however, further investigations are being underway, a Railway Police claimed. — APP
