ISLAMABAD/ NEW YORK: At least six people were killed in the state of Alabama of United States (US) as tornadoes swept through the southeast of the country, Governor Kay Ivey stated on Thursday.
In a tweet, the governor expressed her sadness at learning that six residents of Alabama had died as a result of the storms that tore through our state. She also said that their loved ones and communities are in her prayers. She claimed that although we are all too used to severe weather, our population is robust. It won’t last forever, but it will make us stronger.
US losses
For the areas severely impacted by the storms, the governor issued an emergency declaration. Numerous homes were reported to have been damaged, and thousands of people in Georgia, Mississippi, and Alabama were left without electricity as a result of the harsh weather.
