MUZAFFARGARH: The Muzaffargarh Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) got registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the suspects for attacking four meter readers here on Tuesday.
According to the FIR, six unidentified residents of Chune Wali Gali in Mohalla Sheikhupura are accused of attacking the meter readers from Wapda first division, including Abubakar, Waheed Akhtar, Barkatullah, and Muhammad Irshad. They also allegedly included retired Tehsildar Salim Parvez, the son of Muhammad Akram, and a vendor named Mohammad Javed. Both parties exchanged abuse, which subsequently sparked a violent confrontation.
Conflict arose because the meter readers’ delayed reading resulted in the billing of additional units. Plaintiffs claim that by leaving the scene, they were able to save their lives. According to a report from the SDO Wapda Subdivision, the Civil Lines police station filed a case against two people who were identified and four other unidentified individuals. —APP
