BAKU: The inauguration ceremony of the newly elected President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will take place on Friday (today).
The lower house of parliament said in a statement that the inauguration of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will take place at a joint meeting of the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the of Uzbekistan.
The early presidential polls in the country were held on 9 July, where Shavkat Mirziyoyev received 87.05%of the votes.
According to the Uzbek Constitution, the President is elected for a tenure of seven years.
Mirziyoyev’s reforms in Uzbekistan
The landslide re-election of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reflects the continued confidence placed in his leadership and his vision for the country. Since assuming office in 2016, President Mirziyoyev has pursued a series of ambitious reforms aimed at modernizing and transforming Uzbekistan.
