GAZA: Amidst escalating tensions in Gaza, World Central Kitchen (WCK) confirms the devastating loss of seven staff members in what they describe as a “targeted attack” by the Israeli military.

The victims hailed from diverse backgrounds, including Palestine, Australia, Poland, the UK, and a US-Canada dual citizen, underscoring the international scope of the tragedy.

According to Doctors Without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontieres, or MSF), Gaza’s al-Shifa Hospital lies in ruins, bearing witness to the destruction wrought by the recent two-week Israeli military raid.

In another disturbing development, an Iranian official alleges that Israel targeted the Islamic republic’s consulate building in Damascus, resulting in casualties, including a senior IRGC commander. This incident is seen as a retaliation for Israel’s perceived failure to achieve its objectives in Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s vow to swiftly enact legislation banning Al Jazeera and other foreign news networks deemed security risks further exacerbates tensions.

The staggering human toll of the conflict continues to mount, with at least 32,845 Palestinians killed and 75,392 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. Meanwhile, Hamas’s attack on Israel on the same day has claimed the lives of 1,139 Israelis, with many more held captive.
