RIYADH: The Central Library at Saudi Arabia’s Islamic University of Madinah has digitised its collection of 34,615 microfilmed manuscripts and 916 original paper manuscripts, including works dating back to the seventh century AH.

According to the university, the collection serves as a valuable scholarly resource, providing students and researchers with access to primary sources of Islamic heritage, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.

The digitised manuscripts support academic research and the preparation of critical editions, while offering insights into the writing and transcription practices of scholars throughout the centuries.
