GENEVA: Saudi Arabia’s young innovators have earned international recognition after achieving a remarkable milestone at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions 2026, one of the world’s most prestigious platforms for innovation and scientific creativity, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.

Competing in the Young Talent track for general education students under the age of 18, Saudi student Al-Jawhara Saud Al-Qahtani captured the Grand Prize for “Inventors of Tomorrow and Young Talents 2026.”

Her award-winning project is an advanced AI-powered platform designed to assist clinical decision-making and support gene editing technologies aimed at diagnosing and treating respiratory diseases.

In addition to the top prize, she was also honored with a Gold Medal with Distinction, highlighting the exceptional impact and innovation of her work.

Saudi Arabia made a strong showing at the international event, presenting 135 scientific inventions across multiple educational sectors.

The national delegation included 10 projects from general education students, 10 from teachers, 111 from public and private universities and colleges, and four inventions from the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation.

The Kingdom’s participation featured a diverse group of innovators, with 73 students representing general, university, and technical education streams, accompanied by 99 faculty members who contributed to the development and presentation of the projects.

The outstanding performance reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing investment in scientific research, innovation, and youth development, as well as its commitment to nurturing talent capable of addressing global challenges through technology and creative thinking.

The Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions brings together innovators, researchers, and institutions from around the world, serving as a global stage for breakthrough ideas and transformative technologies.
